Expansion

Expansion is an interesting word to describe the theme for the remainder of 2026. The more I sit with it, the more it seems to fit.

It isn't an expansion of my appetite, although it could be. I do seem to be eating more these days. It isn't an expansion of my screen time, though that would be believable too. Somehow, I find myself scrolling a little longer every day. It isn't even an expansion of my spending habits. It's hard to spend money you don't have, and I don't do credit.

The expansion I'm talking about is different.

I'm expanding me. Not in the physical sense, and not by becoming someone else. I'm expanding into a fuller version of who I've always been. I'm making room for more curiosity, more courage, more wisdom, more grace. I'm learning to occupy more of my own life instead of shrinking to fit expectations or circumstances.

Expansion, for me, isn't about adding something I was missing. It's about uncovering what has always been there and allowing it to take up the space it deserves. It's becoming more fully, unapologetically, and intentionally myself.

I've created a vision statement that captures the kind of expansion I want to pursue:

I am intentionally creating a life that is healthy, meaningful, financially secure, creatively fulfilling, spiritually grounded, and rich in relationships. I embrace each new season with grit, grace, and gratitude as I expand into the woman I was created to become.

"Embracing each new season with grit, grace, and gratitude" is more than a motto for TRW. It's the way I want to live. Grit gives me the courage to keep going when life is hard. Grace reminds me to extend compassion to myself and others. Gratitude helps me see God's goodness in every season.

As a retired widow, I found myself stagnant, my world confined by the walls of my home. For a while, simply getting through each day felt like enough. But I realized God wasn't calling me to merely exist. He was inviting me to expand.

Today, I'm expanding my world. I'm living with purpose instead of simply passing time. I'm embracing new opportunities, building deeper relationships, and looking toward the future with hope. Expansion isn't about becoming someone different—it's about becoming more fully the woman God created me to be.

What about you? Are you ready to embrace your next season with grit, grace, and gratitude?

If you're longing for more purpose, deeper connection, and the courage to grow, I'd love to invite you to join the TRW community. Together, we'll encourage one another, celebrate each victory, and remind each other that no season is wasted when we're willing to keep expanding into the lives God has prepared for us.
